Support Māori Maps
$1.00
Māori Maps recognises marae as Aoteaora's unique point of difference to the world. Three or four generations since World War II, marae face the impacts of depopulation, poverty, and disconnection. Our aim is to foster connection between descendants and their ancestral marae, while guiding visitors to engage with respect.
Your koha helps to:
- Maintain and update the national marae directory and mapping tools
- Support ongoing photography, storytelling and content for marae
- Strengthen pathways for rangatahi to reconnect with their whakapapa and whenua
- Sustain the small team and partners who keep Māori Maps online and accessible
Administered by Te Potiki National Trust, a charitable organisation founded in 2007, Māori Maps brings together expertise from tikanga, research, business and technology to promote marae for future generations. Every contribution, large or small, goes directly towards preserving and enhancing this kaupapa so that marae remain visible.
